Goals Post,

Q: What are my current goals as a writer?

My current goals as a writer, is to start consistently writing more often, do my blog post, and think more like a journalist would. I have to say this quarter I am doing much worse, and I haven’t been writing or blogging as much as I should. I’ve been to pre occupied with stupid things and have not been focusing on my school work. It’s really bringing my grades down, and right now in this class I have an F with nothing turned in. I am very disappointed in myself, as long with my parents too. I am really hoping to bring my grades up, at least to a B, but even better an A. But to get an A I have to work really hard and need to do my work. I HAVE TO stop procrastinating and remember to do my work and to realize every day I am not getting the credits I need, and I am very behind. To bring up the grade I need, I am going to set myself goals of how I want to get my diploma, graduate, and have at least a GPA of 3.0. I also want to get a scholarship and into a college right after high school and if I do not work at this I will never be able to reach my goals.

I need to start to think like a journalist or an author so in the future I will not have a hard time writing essays or “Writer’s block”. Writing everyday will really help me improve on all my writing including spelling, grammar, and with repeating myself. I also should read more often because that will help me get my mind set into “writing mode” because it is proven that reading helps with writing and to learn words and pronunciation.

The biggest problem I have with writing has to be “writer’s block”, every time I try starting a sentence I have a hard time figuring out what to write about, or when I am given a topic, I might start off really well with a few paragraphs but I’m only half way through, which is where I really start to get stuck. I begin to panic or slack off, or I might just say “oh! I’m almost done I’ll finish it later”, but really I still have much writing to get through, and soon enough I will forget about it, and it never gets turned it, which also brings me back to the low grades I am getting.

In conclusion as a writer, I like to express myself through words, but sometimes I can’t type it down as I want to, or it just looks like scribble scrabble. I need to set these goals and let myself know that I can do better if I try harder. Soon enough when I achieve these goals I won’t have “writer’s block” my grammar will be perfect and that F will soon be turned into an A. (:

Amby & Dexter

Today I achieved the goal to find the Nick Jr. Cartoon Short "Amby & Dexter" for months the cartoon was looked for in Sutherland’s class. But I eventually found it, I can't really remember what I had typed in to find it, but I was on Google searching for quite awhile. Then I saw this link to yahoo answers, with someone asking where to find the same cartoon, and people answered with links and videos and including the name title! So finally we were all able to watch the mini shorts with them playing the piano and planting seeds. And by the way we had to look for this cartoon by memory we had no clue to what the name was or what the characters had looked like.

If you’re wondering what exactly "Amby and Dexter" is, it is a cute little cartoon made by two cartoon artist. It starts off usually with a pair of hands, and soon enough one hand turn into a little boy, then the other hand turn into a little girl. They are supposedly an inch tall. Well after the hands turn into little miniature people they go on strange adventures such as playing the piano with their feet, or planting seeds into an egg carton, watering the soil and measuring it, or they paint with what it seems like gigantic paint brushes and giant paint tins. The cartoon was on Nick Jr. and was only about a couple minutes long, it was featured as a cartoon “short”. And this cartoon was actually made very long ago around 2000 or so.

Which brings me to the point of childhood cartoons, I have to say those were the best, and I miss very much of it. Saturday mornings with your family/cousins, waking up early to watch all the best cartoons, those were the best of days. I remember most of cartoons I watched, like “Catdog”, “Rocket Power”, “Power Puff Girls”, “Clifford”, and I could go on for hours!

Another thing about the cartoon is that the cartoon is absolutely adorable, i think right now you should go on youtube and search that sh*t. (:
